A patron came in this morning and was looking for a work permit for her son. After a lot of searching, I found out that the forms needed are not available in PDF form online but are kept by the high school guidance counselors.

Work Permits For Youth
Work permits are required for individuals 14 and 15 years of age. The student should contact their junior or high school's guidance counselor. The guidance counselors have all the information and permission forms that need to be signed by a parent or guardian. Homework: Vocational Guidance
As B, I think it was, mentioned the other day, we have had a run on students who put off spring break assignments. As well as the "read something" project she noted, I'm seeing the find-out-about-a-career assignment.
At REF 331.702 you'll find cool career encyclopedias; circulating 331.702s are things like "careers without college" and "careers for outdoorsy people." Occupational Outlook online is good.
And, finally, remember the graceful Library of Congress search term "vocational guidance," which you can use as an subject search term, like this: "child care vocational guidance" or "food service vocational guidance" or "fashion vocational guidance."

and Resume templates. As some of our folks have trouble downloading
the Microsoft templates these may be more accessible.
