Special Summer Reading Lists

HCPS system-wide high school honors reading lists are now in the notebook on the YA table and on the display and in the notebook at ref. Note that they are organized by school name.

Henrico High School has two special programs, in addition to regular classes. Each has its own summer reading assignments. Since many students in the magnet programs don't live near NP, we may not see many students who need them. Here are the links for lists:

• "Regular" courses, including honors and AP.
• The Center for the Arts has lists by discipline.
• The IB Programme doesn't seem to have a list posted at this time.
• NEW: Moody MS has its IB lists on its own site.

Looking up Chamberlayne Ave. into Hanover County:

• Pearson's Corner, Washington-Henry, Kersey Creek, and Cool Spring, are the elementary schools our patrons may attend.
  
• Chickahominy Middle School's reading list.
• Links to Atlee High School's list are on the school's home page.

Richmond City Schools seem to put the list on each school's website.

Schools Assigned to North Park and Accelerated Readers

Hi All -
In case you did not know, or a reminder if you did, the following Henrico public elementaries are "assigned" to the North Park Branch: Chamberlayne, Laburnum (a change from the past), and Longdale. Lisa reminds me that Wilder Middle is the "assigned" middle school.

Now from here - who "shops" here? Other Henrico Schools with frequency? Lisa mentioned maybe Brookland Middle. Hanover? Private schools? Can you name others?

I am game to make available copies of Accelerated Reader lists for our shoppers. Let me know what schools not listed above provide much traffic. While we may not look up holdings in SIRSI on all these lists except the formally "assigned" schools, having these lists for browsing in the stacks will be a great convenience for patrons.

For example, I am game to throw in Hanover's Washington Henry Elementary due to its proximity. Any place else? Private schools (and do they even do Accelerated Reader)? I know Victory Christian is nearby. Put on your thinking caps and let us know.
