New in Ref: directory

Rats, I could have used this recently, when a patron asked about places to volunteer.

The County of Henrico publishes a document called "Directory of Organizations" that lists youth organizations, garden clubs, neighborhood associations, political groups, etc. etc. that serve the county. When you know the name of the organization you want to join, it's easier to use a phone directory or the internet to get in touch, but with someone wanting to browse, this is the tool.

It's on the ref shelf, call number REF 061.75 HENRICO.

(061 being the classification "General organization & museology In North America." Ugh. Source, Thompson-Nicola Regional District Library System's DDC listing. OCLC of course "owns" Dewey, but gives nothing for free. Catalog librarians who do Dewey at the Library of Congress keep this cool blog.)
