360 Driving Test

As part of out test proctoring, I understand that we get occasional requests from students for the online driving schools accepted by the Virginia DMV.

There is one school that has contacted us to allow their students to take their final exam in our libraries. There are other online schools you may have dealt with, but this particular one is called: 360 Services Driver Improvement/ www.onlinedrivingva.com

If staff is asked to help, they must do two things:

1. Accompany the customer to a PC and check the person’s photo ID to see that it matches the name on the screen/exam. (Any generic photo ID showing the name and face is acceptable.)

2. Type in a password that all locations will use that enables the customer to take the final exam. The password is: abbitttest
(Please avoid letting the student see the password you type in. You do not need to closely monitor the test taker after they log-in.)

After that, students are on their own to complete the test.

NOTES:
• They must have a card to sign on to our PCS and this had been noted on the schools information for the students taking the test in Henrico

• They get no priority on PCS and they have been informed that though they do not need to make advance appointments, they could experience wait times getting on a PC

• The test generally takes 20 minutes and the school knows about our 2 hour time limit

• Many other VA public libraries participate across the State and it works successfully. We have conducted an on-site experiment at Varina with a student taking the final and it worked very easily—no glitches. (Thank you Jeanne!)
