Credit Reports

Michelle Singletary, writing in this Sunday's Washington Post, reminds us that there's one reliable source for free credit reports: www.AnnualCreditReport.com.

In the article ("Underlining the 'Free' in 'Free Credit Report'"), she briefly notes that other sites mislead and add fees. All sites do try to sell related financial services. A patron I helped recently had entered his credit card where another site told him to, paid his dollar, and wanted to know why it hadn't printed on our printer, since he had "paid my dollar for a printout."
